Pajama Jam 2023
The most wonderful time of the year is rapidly approaching and The Big Biscuit is giving back in a BIG way. For the second year, we are partnering with Q104 and Jenny Matthews to sponsor The Pajama Jam.
What is The Pajama Jam?
The Pajama Jam is an annual pajama drive in the greater Kansas City area, benefiting the children of Operation Breakthrough. The goal is to collect as many pairs of new children’s pajamas this season. While the holidays may bring about warm, fuzzy memories for many of us, that’s not the reality for every member of our community. That’s why Jenny Matthews created this campaign in the first place, she said, “Toys are great. But, I wanted to come up with a way to give them something comforting, functional and brand new. Jammies!” Each pair of pjs donated goes straight to a kiddo in need in the KC community.
What is Operation Breakthrough?
Operation Breakthrough is a non-profit organization that has been working to help the children of Kansas City since 1971. They explain, “There are several critical services no person should live without. Operation Breakthrough provides educational programs, healthcare, parent programs, and emergency services to the children and families they serve.” To learn more about all of the amazing services Operation Breakthrough provides to the KC community check out their website.
The Numbers
Last year across our 15 greater KC locations, The Big Biscuit collected 2,000 pairs of pajamas! This year we aim for 1,000 more. That’s right folks, we are hoping to collect 3,000 pairs of new pajamas for the Kiddos of Operation Breakthrough. We can’t do this alone, so please consider picking up a new pair of jammies next time you’re out shopping to donate to this worthy cause!
Stop by your local Big Biscuit and join us in bringing some holiday cheer and coziness to a very worthy cause. Collection bins can be found at any of our 15 greater KC area Big Biscuit locations between November 22nd and December 18th. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
